A Florida-commissioned mobile notary helps residents of Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Estero and Lee County get documents ready for an apostille so they're accepted abroad. English and Spanish. We come to you.
What Is an Apostille?
An apostille is a certificate issued by the Florida Department of State that confirms a Florida notary's or public official's signature, so the document is accepted in countries that belong to the Hague Apostille Convention. Countries outside the Convention may require a different process called authentication. A notary does not issue apostilles; only the Department of State does.
An apostille is not a notarization. Some documents, such as a power of attorney or a sworn statement, are notarized first and then sent for the apostille. Others, such as certified records from a government office, already carry an official's signature and may not need a notary at all. Documents issued by a federal agency, such as an FBI background check, are apostilled by a federal office instead. Which route applies to you depends on your document and on what the receiving country asks for.
How We Help
- Tell us the document and the country it's going to.
- We review whether it needs notarization before it can be apostilled.
- Mobile notarization wherever you are: home, office, hospital or care facility.
- We explain how to send it to the Florida Department of State for the apostille. We do not submit documents to government offices for you.
Every document is different, so tell us what you have and we'll tell you what we can do for it.
Documents We Commonly Help With
These are some of the documents we see most often. Requirements differ by country, so always check what the receiving office has asked for.
- Powers of attorney
- Affidavits and sworn statements
- Birth and marriage certificates
- Divorce decrees
- Academic records and diplomas
- Corporate resolutions and agent authorizations
- Articles of incorporation and certificates of good standing
- Business affidavits and contracts
Not every document needs a notary. We review yours first and tell you whether notarization is part of the process, so you only do the steps you need.
We Come to You in Lee County
Mobile notary service is available in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Estero and the rest of Lee County. We meet you at your home, office, hospital or care facility. We are open 24 hours by appointment, which helps when you are working against a travel date or a deadline abroad.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
- The document you need notarized. Do not sign it ahead of time unless we tell you to, because some notarizations must be signed in front of the notary.
- A valid government-issued photo ID.
- The name of the country where the document will be used.
- Any instructions from the school, agency, court or office that asked for the apostille.
Plan Ahead for Your Apostille
Start by asking the office that requested your document exactly what it needs. Then check the Department of State's current instructions and fees before you send anything. Allow time for the notarization and for mailing, especially if you have a travel date, a school deadline or a court date abroad. The sooner we know your document and destination, the sooner we can tell you what comes first.

What We Do and Do Not Do
- We are a Florida notary public. We are not attorneys and cannot give legal advice.
- We do not issue apostilles. Only the Department of State, or a federal office for federal documents, can do that.
- We do not submit documents to government offices for you. We explain how to send your document yourself.
- Processing times and fees are set by the government office, and we cannot promise how long an apostille will take.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a notary issue an apostille?
No. Only the Florida Department of State can issue an apostille for Florida documents. A notary can notarize your document so it is ready to be sent for one.
Does every document need to be notarized first?
No. Documents you sign yourself, such as a power of attorney, usually need to be notarized. Certified records from a government office may already be ready. We review your document and tell you which applies.
Will an apostille work in every country?
Only in countries that belong to the Hague Apostille Convention. Other countries may require authentication instead. Ask the receiving office or embassy which process they accept.
How long does an apostille take?
The Department of State sets the processing time, and it changes. Check its website for current times before you plan around a travel or filing date.
Do you serve Lehigh Acres and Estero?
Yes. We travel to Lehigh Acres, Estero, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers and across Lee County by appointment.
How do I know if my document is state or federal?

Do you handle pickup and delivery of documents?
Pickup and delivery may be available for an additional fee. Ask when scheduling your appointment.
Do you offer service in Spanish?
Yes. Leonel works in English and Spanish.
