Question 1

Can I sign from home?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you have a computer or phone with a camera, a microphone and an internet connection, a valid photo ID, and your document in digital form. Ask when you book whether your document and situation qualify, and check that the party receiving the document accepts online notarizations.

Question 2

What ID do I need?

Accepted Answer

A valid, government-issued photo ID. Leonel checks your identity on the video call before the notarization. Our identification requirements page explains which IDs are accepted and how names must match.

Question 3

Is it valid in Florida?

Accepted Answer

Leonel Dubon is a Florida commissioned Notary Public who performs online notarizations. Whether an online notarization is accepted for your purpose is decided by the party receiving your document, so check with them first. For legal questions about your document, speak with a licensed Florida attorney.

Question 4

Can you notarize any document?

Accepted Answer

No. The document must be complete, and the signer must show valid ID and be aware and willing to sign. Leonel cannot draft a document, choose one for you, or give legal advice about it. Some documents may not qualify for online notarization, or the receiving party may not accept them. Ask when you book.
